About Janet Zavala, Certified Life Coach

My story …

It’s important for me to live my life with passion, connecting with others and making a difference when I can.

I've worked incredibly hard to heal my own life while focusing on achieving my dreams. Now I dedicated my writing and coaching practice to helping others do the same

At various times in my life, I have struggled with it all – money problems, loneliness, addiction, co-dependent relationships, and much more. I’ve made a lot of mistakes but looking back, these were the times that taught me the most.

Through it all, I always believed that there was a better life out there for me – and for everyone. I knew I had lessons to learn in order to overcome the debilitating fears and negative thought processes that were holding me back.

I’ve worked in the corporate world for over 30 years…

I’m so grateful for my experiences in the corporate world. I have had the opportunity to learn incredible things and meet smart and ambitious people. It is where I found my passion for coaching. Meeting employees “where they were” and helping them hone their strengths and apply them to achieve maximum results has been very rewarding.

Along the way, I have learned to lead with compassion. I learned that not everyone fits a perfect corporate mold – including myself and trying to force someone to fit that mold is a recipe for disaster and unhappiness. I learned that there are a lot of people just trying to do the best they can in any given situation. I learned the meaning of truly working hard and testing your own and other’s perceived limitations. I have seen integrity displayed in even the most challenging times.

I am a writer and a coach

Through my writing I hope to inspire people to believe that they are worthy of living their best life. Through the coaching process we dig a little deeper into all aspects of their lives - mind, body, and spirit - to uncover and eliminate the blocks that are holding them back.

Coaching has not only helped me transform my own life, but as a coach I’m able to do the work I love and help others transform their own lives. I take my work very seriously and consider it a huge honor to work with each and every one of my clients.

I’m obsessed with personal development and learning new ways of creating positive change in my life and in the lives of my clients.

I'm dedicated to my meditation practice. My monkey brain is one of the reasons I have made meditation my daily non-negotiable activity. Meditation grounds me and keeps me centered. It is where my inner voice and most authentic self resides.

I believe in the power of healthy routines.

As Louise Hay says “How you start your day is how you live your day. How you live your day is how you live your life.” To make health and happiness a priority, you need to include activities in your morning and daily routines that set you up for success.

I believe that people find the most balance and peace when they pay attention to body, mind and soul. Each area of your life needs to be treated with great care and affection.

Life is a journey and I’m still on it. I’m walking this journey with my head held high and enjoying each and every messy minute of it !

That’s a little about me, now I want to learn about YOU!

What do you most want to create, be, achieve and experience in your life?

Are you ready to make it happen?

Janet is amazing! I never thought I’d need a life coach – what exactly is that, and why do I need one? All good questions…. however after a few minutes of talking casually with Janet, I found that coaching is a partnership to help you be the best ‘you’ and happiest ‘you’, you can be. But the goals, ideas, problems, solutions, and ultimately the action comes from you, just like coaching in sports.

I knew my personality type, that I’m a people-pleaser, didn’t want to make waves, always struggled with low confidence, decision making, and was apologetic for things that I could not control. It really never occurred to me that it made such a difference in my day to day life. Through Janet’s uncanny ability for asking the right questions, positive challenges, firm accountability, and honest feedback, combined with her listening skills, she picked out the important issues, and repeated them back to me. I had all the answers I just wasn’t able to find them myself or know how to put them into action. Several lessons I have learned are that being physically healthy thru proper sleep habits, nutrition, and balance really truly affects all aspects of your life. I’ve learned to recognize and replace the negative self-talk with positive affirmations, make decisions based on the ‘what if’ perspective, not emotion or guilt, take action on things I need to do within a timely manner, set appropriate priorities, and ask myself the question: “Is this the best for me because I deserve to be happy and the absolute best in everything I do”. All these aspects come with a change from negative to positive patterns of behavior which is empowering.

Whether it’s about changing your career path, helping you reach personal or professional goals, Janet can help you realize the power you have in your life to make the changes. But you have to do the work, practice, and be consistent….and it’s ok if you fail…there is no failure, just lessons.
